Domestic Violence.

Swinburne Maddison LLP represents husbands, wives or co-habitees and children in injunction proceedings such as Non-Molestation Orders and/or Occupation Orders.

Domestic Violence can be a difficult issue to face and the first port of call would be the Police. However, sometimes an injunction is required to give protection to a victim of abuse.

Domestic Violence is defined as “any incident or patterns of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (whether psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between individuals who are associated with one another”.

If you feel that you are a victim of domestic violence, please get in touch with us so that we may have a discussion to find a way forward. If you have already received a letter from a solicitor or you have received court papers, you should speak with us immediately.

Legal Aid is available for some Domestic Violence cases subject to your financial means and the merit of your case.
