Staff at Swinburne Maddison have once again rolled up their sleeves and baked up a storm in the name of charity, this time in support of Marie Curie.
From cream scones to Easter cupcakes, the coffee morning was a baking master class that Mary Berry herself would be proud of! And most importantly, the bakers’ culinary efforts were rewarded with cash donations from all who enjoyed them.
Alongside the home-baked goodies, donations were made in return for Marie Curie daffodil pins and also for a guess at the “how many chocolate eggs are in the basket” game (why should kids get to have all the fun??) which saw Legal Secretary, Katie Scott, take home the full basket of 143 eggs after she managed to guess the exact number!
It was a great day, and a wonderful excuse to fill the kitchen with daffodils!
Thank you to everyone who baked and donated – we raised just shy of £150.00 for a remarkable charity which provides expert care, guidance and support to people living with terminal illness, and their families.
