Swinburne Maddison LLP solicitor gains accreditation as a children law (adult representative)

Swinburne Maddison LLP has strengthened its public law child-related services following solicitor Allan Devine’s successful accreditation as a Law Society Children Law (Adult Representative) Panel Member.

Allan, who joined the Swinburne Maddison LLP in 1995, underwent the rigorous procedure to join the specific Law Society Panel. After completing demanding written assignments, he was invited to the London headquarters for an exacting interview with a Child Guardian and Panel Member.

Subsequent to Allan’s achievement, he will represent adults in care proceedings in accordance with the requirements of the Society’s Scheme. One of just three Panel Members in Durham, Allan is the only Child Law Representative acting solely for Adult Parties. He will serve on the Panel for a five year term.

At Swinburne Maddison LLP, Allan specialises in advising on a wide range of family matters. He is also a member of the two-hour Police Station and Court Rotas and is co-opted to the Standing Committee of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Law Society.

Allan said, “I am very pleased with the value that my Panel Membership brings both to the Firm and the clients that I represent. I can provide assured expert assistance throughout care proceedings from investigations by the Local Authority to advocacy in the Family Proceedings Court and County Court as well as in the new Family Court when that comes into being. Certainly, the benefits make the challenging application process most worthwhile.”
