    Our employment team advise on a wide range of employment law and HR-related matters, each managing their own caseload. We advise and represent both employers and employees on issues such as disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy and restructuring, discrimination and harassment claims, whistleblowing, TUPE, employment tribunal litigation, and settlement agreements. The team frequently collaborates with Swinburne Maddison’s Corporate team, offering expertise on employment documents related to sale and acquisition transactions.

    In 2024, we introduced our monthly employment law retainer scheme, smartHR, for our commercial clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting this scheme and providing advice under it. Beyond their caseloads, our employment team also delivers training and seminars to clients and other professionals on current employment law topics and actively engages in business development initiatives.

    We’re seeking a talented lawyer with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in employment law to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and drafting skills, along with the ability to manage complex and challenging cases with confidence and professionalism. A strong interest in business development is also essential.

    To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

    • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients and the broader professional community.
    • A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
    • Proven experience in advising clients on a variety of employment issues, including HR support, non-contentious matters, and contentious Tribunal instructions.
    • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team and across departments.
    • A commitment to professional development and staying current with changes in employment law and best practices.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
