Lawyer Vacancy, Commercial Property (5 years + PQE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced full-time Commercial Property Lawyer to join our award-winning Real Estate team at our office in Aykley Heads, Durham, on a permanent basis.


The role

You will be joining a busy and growing Real Estate team, working alongside the department’s three Partners and five Solicitors.

Our team enjoy a varied and challenging caseload, working on complex and regionally-significant projects across a broad range of sectors including development, hospitality, banking, manufacturing and construction and agriculture.


Required experience, skills and attributes

We are looking for an experienced lawyer with over 5 years PQE who has experience of working in a busy Real Estate team.


This role will require a good working knowledge of all general commercial property matters – including Landlord & Tenant and Sales & Acquisitions across various sectors – and experience in the following areas is desirable but not essential: -

  • Development work, including: Sales and acquisitions of land for development; Options; Promotion Agreements; and Conditional Contracts.
  • Construction
  • Planning Law

  • Having an aptitude to develop your own career, the Commercial Property team and the wider firm.
  • An ability to supervise and train junior members of the team.


We receive work from a variety of sources including professional contacts and existing clients and aim always to provide exceptional client care. Excellent communication skills and IT skills are therefore also required.


An existing professional network is desirable but not necessary, as many opportunities will be provided for Business Development work.
