Legal Compliance Officer Vacancy

We are delighted to advertise a new role with our firm for a part-time Compliance Officer to join our team on a permanent basis.  We anticipate the role being 3 days per week however we consider full-time applicants. 

 

The role

You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Operations with all compliance elements of operating a busy law firm including SRA Regulatory, Data Protection, and Lexcel requirements. 

Examples of the responsibilities for the role include:

• Maintenance of breach register, including reviewing and reporting any breaches or incidents to the COLP/COFA
• Co-ordinating regulatory or compulsory training across the firm
• Co-ordinating and assisting with file reviews
• Supporting with the administration of our Lexcel accreditation
• Supporting with the administration of our CQS accreditation
• Supporting the COFA and Accounts team with internal audits of residual balances and dormant matters
• Responding to general employee enquiries
• Reviewing compliance with processes/procedures and training employees when necessary
• Assisting with the induction process, including any necessary training

 

Required experience, skills and attributes 

The applicant must have demonstrable recent experience of working in compliance. The main attributes we look for, but will not be limited to, are:

• Being proactive in terms of managing your workload and continual development of your skills
• Possessing excellent organisation skills
• Showing exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Experience of working with UK GDPR
• Experience of working with professional services regulatory requirements
