Paralegal/Secretary, Commercial Property Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time and experienced Paralegal or Secretary to join our busy Commercial Property team on a permanent basis.

 

The role

You will be joining an award-winning team that recently retained its Top Tier status in the 2022 edition of The Legal 500.

You will provide direct support to our team of lawyers to allow them to operate at optimum efficiency.  This will include, but will not be limited to, the responsibilities given below:-

  • Preparing correspondence and documents.
  • Administering filing which will include the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of files.
  • Preparing mail and enclosures for dispatch, either electronically or through the postal system.
  • Making appointments and maintaining an up to date diary for his/her principal(s).
  • Providing support to other secretaries as required.
  • Attending clients both in person and on the telephone and providing such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.

There will be an opportunity for you to work independently, under close supervision by qualified staff. 

 

Required experience, skills and attributes 

The successful candidate will either have an existing legal qualification, e.g. a Law degree/post-graduate legal qualification, and/or previous experience of working as a secretary in a law firm or other professional service setting.

You will also display the following attributes: -

  • Being proactive in terms of managing your workload and continual development of your own professional skills.
  • Proven experience in managing high volume work to ensure correspondence is actioned within appropriate timescales.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A high degree of self-management and initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work and build relationships with colleagues, clients and the wider professional community.
