James joined the firm’s Dispute Resolution team in March 2021 following his qualification as a Solicitor and was promoted to Associate Solicitor within the firm in May 2024. He completed his LPC at Northumbria University and his training contract with a practice in Carlisle.
He is regularly instructed by businesses and individuals on a wide range of complex commercial matters, including those which involve:
- allegations of unfairly prejudicial conduct under the Companies Act 2006;
- allegations of commercial fraud or dishonest assistance;
- high value debt or contract disputes;
- professional negligence;
- commercial partnerships;
- claims involving breaches of fiduciary duties owed by directors;
- housing disrepair;
- property litigation
Outside of work, James is an unabashed bibliophile with a particular interest in late antiquity/medieval history. Outside of books, he enjoys weightlifting and tending his vegetable garden.
