Partner, Corporate and Commercial

Martyn is a Partner and Head of the Corporate and Commercial team.  He joined the firm in 2005, qualified in 2007 and was later promoted to Partner in 2010.  Described as “very approachable”, “very knowledgeable” and “hands on” in the current edition of The Legal 500 United Kingdom, Martyn is one of the most highly regarded corporate lawyers in the North East of England, building a team to become one of the most active mergers & acquisition advisors in the region by volume of deals completed (Experian).

As a consequence of having been made a Partner at a young age, Martyn has been able to gather invaluable experience not only as a lawyer but as a business owner himself, which has allowed for clear strategic planning and an understanding of client objectives when providing legal advice.

He will often lead transactional based work, relating to business acquisitions and disposals, private equity transactions and corporate restructures, coordinating advice and assistance from various legal disciplines across the firm.
