Abigail Zuk is a highly experienced Managing Associate Solicitor within Swinburne Maddison’s Dispute Resolution team. She obtained her Law degree from York University before completing the Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University in 2012. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2014, Abigail spent several years gaining post-qualification experience at a respected regional law firm before joining Swinburne Maddison in 2018. She has played a key role in the team’s growth and was promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2019 and then to Managing Associate in 2020.
With a strong background in litigation, Abigail specialises in contested probate matters. She is regularly instructed by private individuals in relation to claims against estates. Her expertise covers a broad range of contested probate and trust disputes, including inheritance claims, applications for the removal of Personal representatives and will validity challenges.
Abigail also acts for clients in various commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, contentious insolvency matters, professional negligence claims and personal injury claims. She has extensive experience in leading high-value, multi-track cases in the Business and Property Courts, often involving multi-faceted and cross-jurisdictional elements.
Recognised for her strategic approach, Abigail advises clients on effective litigation strategies to achieve their objectives efficiently and cost-effectively. She regularly attends mediations and joint settlement meetings, working proactively to resolve disputes at the earliest opportunity. Abigail is dedicated to providing outstanding client care, ensuring that she understands her clients’ goals from the outset and guides them towards the best possible outcome.

Abigail has extensive experience in handling both probate and commercial litigation matters, representing a diverse range of clients, from private individuals to business entities.
Some of her recent cases include:
- Providing specialist advice to Insolvency Practitioners who were appointed as Trustees in Bankruptcy regarding multiple inheritance payments due from estates that had remained unadministered for years, requiring complex court applications.
- Representing a client in a High Court appeal concerning an Inventory and Account dispute, following a favourable ruling by the District Registrar of the Probate Registry, while parallel County Court proceedings were ongoing.
- Acting for former directors in disputes concerning personal guarantees provided to companies.
- Defending a utilities broker against customer claims relating to alleged “secret commissions.”
Abigail was named a Leading Associate in the 2026 and 2025 editions of The Legal 500 for commercial litigation, where she was recognised for her ‘broad commercial litigation practice, covering contract disputes and directors’ disputes’.
Prior to this, she has been consistently recognised as a Rising Star in The Legal 500 since 2019, reflecting her dedication, expertise, and exceptional client service.
