Community spirit
We’re passionate about supporting social mobility, local schools, and helping students take their first steps into the legal sector. Through initiatives like Building My Skills with The Esh Group and offering work placements, we aim to provide students with valuable, real-world experience that opens doors to exciting opportunities in law.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice holds a special place in our hearts, and we proudly support their incredible work each year. Volunteering is something we truly enjoy, and every year our team takes a volunteer day to lend a hand to animal rescues, mental health charities, and other wonderful local causes. We’re also proud to support the Dunelm Foundation, Suubi Africa, and other causes that are important to our clients. Additionally, we regularly collect for Durham Foodbank, matching any donations raised to make an even bigger impact.
Environmental impact
We know that, like many businesses, we have an impact on the environment, and we’re committed to doing our part to make it better. We’re constantly working on reducing our footprint by moving more of our processes online, cutting back on paper use, and embracing energy-efficient solutions wherever we can. Our recycling program is a big part of this, ensuring that we manage our resources in a responsible way and reduce waste.
We also love giving back to our local environment. Through volunteering days at Aykley Heads Nature Reserve and beach clean-ups, we help keep our beautiful surroundings clean and protected. We’re proud to do our bit to help preserve Durham’s natural beauty and contribute to a healthier planet for future generations.

Social mobility
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore a career in law, regardless of their background. That’s why we offer a summer work experience programme designed to give students a real-world taste of what it’s like to work at a leading law firm.
Our programme provides hands-on exposure to the legal world, giving you the chance to experience everything from corporate deals to property disputes. Our programme is open to Year 11 to university level—who are eager to learn and explore a future in law.
