Imogen Bosanko is a Trainee Solicitor at Swinburne Maddison, currently gaining experience in various departments throughout the firm, including Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Property and Dispute Resolution. Having joined the firm in October 2024, Imogen brings an impressive academic background, holding a First Class Master of Laws from Northumbria University and a Master of Laws from The Ohio State University.
Imogen stands out for her empathetic approach and commitment to client care, ensuring every client feels supported and confident in the legal process. Her core values of respect and collaboration underpin her work, enabling her to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues. Her early exposure to high-profile cases and willingness to embrace new challenges have allowed her to develop a well-rounded foundation in corporate law.
Imogen’s aims to qualify as a Solicitor in October 2026 and aspires to build her expertise across various legal areas. She is particularly interested in the Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Agriculture areas of law.
Imogen has already gained valuable experience through roles as a Paralegal and Legal Secretary prior to joining Swinburne Maddison. So far, her training contract has provided her with significant exposure to corporate law, allowing her to assist partners with complex transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions.
Career highlights include:
- Sale of the corporate and commercial team in a significant investment transaction of a local sporting club.
- Assisting the partners on the retirement of a wealth management company in connection with a wider M&A transaction.
- Gaining hands-on experience in family law and legislative reform during her studies at The Ohio State University.
Day-to-day, Imogen is involved in drafting agreements, reviewing contracts, attending client meetings with partners, and liaising with solicitors from other firms.
