Swinburne Maddison LLP had a very successful few months leading up to the end of last year in relation to the Firm’s embedding of a new Corporate Social Responsibility policy. We are delighted by our employees’ commitment to the aims of the policy and with the positive impact that our activities are already making on local and national charities.
Back in September, we raised £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding a coffee morning at our office. Our staff made a fantastic effort – baking savoury and sweet treats for all to share and enjoy. And, John Davison, Managing Partner, took care of making and serving coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Members of the Firm tried their luck at ‘Guess the Number of Coffee Beans in the Jar’ and bought raffle tickets to boost the final sum raised.
In December, our staff bought charity cards from Durham-based St. Cuthbert’s Hospice. There was an excellent selection of Christmas cards which featured festive Durham scenes. This was a great success, raising some £130 for the hospice.
Finally, in late December, we held a food collection both for the Durham Foodbank and their Christmas Hamper initiative. Staff generously brought in a variety of goodies, including selection boxes, biscuits and Christmas puddings which finally filled six large boxes!
Employees at Swinburne Maddison LLP are looking forward to taking part in further fund-raising initiatives throughout 2015.
