Micheldever Tyre Services has completed a deal to purchase Tyre Spot Ltd, which has 11 retail sites across the North East and a distribution site in County Durham servicing the wholesale market.
Tyre Spot was established more than 50 years ago and has grown into the North East’s first choice for tyres, servicing and MOTs, employing 152 colleagues across the region.
The 11 retail centres will be rebranded as Protyre Autocare, the most trusted national garage network in the UK, while the distribution centre will be operated by Micheldever.
Established in 1972, Micheldever Tyre Services is one of the largest wholesalers in the UK with a retail division of 195 fast fit and mechanical service centres.
Graham Mitchell, CEO of Micheldever, said the deal marked an “important step forward” for the business.

The transaction was supported by a strong advisory team on both sides. Swinburne Maddison LLP acted as legal advisers to the sellers, with Martyn Tennant (Partner & Head of Corporate) leading a multidisciplinary team that included Gillian Moir (Commercial Property), Sharney Randhawa (Employment), Matt Ray, Adam McWilliams and Rebecca Tinsley (Corporate). Xeinadin acted as corporate finance, accountancy and tax advisers to the sellers, with Steven Lindsay, Deborah Fletcher-McVay, John Howarth and Rebecca Davison supporting the transaction and helping to deliver a successful outcome for all parties.
