New horizons for Durham’s Not-for-profit foundation

12 July 2019

Written by Swinburne Maddison

Swinburne Maddison LLP is delighted to announce the incorporation of charitable organisation, The Dunelm Foundation.

The not-for-profit organisation will continue to host the annual sportsperson dinners which were previously held in aid of children’s charity, Barnardo’s, for 25 years, raising almost £400,000 in that time.

The newly formed foundation, who’s committee members include Chairperson Dale Lever (Lever Law), Secretary Kath Hill (Swinburne Maddison LLP), Treasurer Nicola Bellerby (Clive Owen) and Lewis Smith (Ashley Smith), will now focus on raising funds for local causes, plus one overseas project each year.

Alex Wilby, Swinburne Maddison’s Corporate and Commercial Partner, carried out the legal work on a pro-bono basis, to establish the charitable foundation as a limited company.

Speaking about his recent involvement Alex Wilby commented, “The Dunelm Foundation is a fantastic group of dedicated committee members, some of whom have worked tirelessly to raise funds for Barnardo’s for many years.”

“I am thrilled to have been involved in helping the team as they begin their new venture and I wish them every success.”

Swinburne Maddison LLP pleased to be supporting The Dunelm Foundation’s inaugural sportspersons dinner in September.
