The Dunelm Foundation Dinner Returns with Kevin Keegan

10 October 2022

Written by Swinburne Maddison

Partner Victoria Walton and Phil Hourigan, our Business & Practice Development Director, are preparing to spend another evening with Kevin Keegan!

Victoria and Phil are part of the Durham-based committee known as the Dunelm Foundation which is responsible for organising an annual fundraising dinner for the benefit of good causes across the North East. The dinner previously raised money exclusively for Barnardo’s and, after strong 25-year run, the committee decided to reach out to more local good causes and distribute the proceeds to grateful recipients all over the region.

Chairman of the Committee, Phil, said “We had such a successful evening with Kevin Keegan before Covid that we decided to invite him back! We will be welcoming over 200 guests to this year’s dinner at Ramside Hall Hotel on October 21st and I’m sure we will have another fantastic evening. We are so grateful to our sponsors Azets, Urban Base and Swinburne Maddison for their continued support and to all those taking tables and donating auction and raffle prizes. I must also mention the wonderful work of our fellow committee members – Nicola Bellerby, Trevor Cartner, Jan Dale, Lewis Smith, Steve Smith and Mike Stephenson.”

The last event in 2019 raised almost £25,000 and carried on the great tradition of its predecessor, the famous Durham Barnardo’s dinner. Some of the causes to benefit were Newcastle United Foundation, Foundation of Light (SAFC), Durham County Cricket Foundation, Gateshead Falcons Foundation, St Nicholas Church, Guide dogs for the Blind, Headway, NE Homeless, St Cuthberts, St Margarets Centre and Willowburn Hospice.

If you would like to buy tickets, take a table or donate a prize please get in touch with Victoria Walton at vew@swinburnemaddison.co.uk or Phil Hourigan at phh@swinburnemaddison.co.uk.
