Kayley Skinner Trainee Solicitor
Trainees
Kayley Skinner is a Trainee Solicitor at Swinburne Maddison. She holds a Master’s Degree from Northumbria University and is developing experience across a range of contentious and non-contentious legal matters.
Prior to commencing her training contract, Kayley worked as a Commercial Disputes Paralegal at a North East law firm, where she gained experience handling business debt recovery claims, local authority claims and a variety of commercial disputes. Her work included matters relating to unpaid goods and services, salary overpayment claims and local authority disputes.
Kayley’s legal career began at Swinburne Maddison, where she worked as a receptionist. The role reinforced her ambition to pursue a career in law, whilst providing her with a unique perspective and appreciation for every aspect of client care.
Known for her compassionate and client-focused approach, Kayley takes the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances and objectives. She believes in supporting people as a whole rather than simply addressing a single legal issue and is committed to providing a service that is professional, approachable and tailored to each client’s needs.
As part of her training contract, Kayley is currently gaining hands-on experience within the Litigation team. Her day-to-day work includes drafting correspondence to opponents, preparing settlement agreements, handling new enquiries and supporting senior lawyers across a range of contentious matters.
Prior to joining the team as a trainee, Kayley gained experience as a Commercial Disputes Paralegal, where she assisted with business debt claims, local authority matters and a variety of commercial disputes. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in dispute resolution and client care.
Kayley is passionate about continuing her development throughout her training contract and is looking forward to gaining experience across a range of practice areas, including Private Client, Corporate and Commercial Property
