Wayne Christie Head of Operations & Innovation
Wayne Christie is the Head of Operations & Innovation at Swinburne Maddison, bringing over two decades of legal and operational experience to the firm. With a background in law, as well as degrees in French and Spanish, Wayne initially pursued a career in Law, where he spent over 15 years in practice specialising in personal injury and criminal injury.
During his legal career, Wayne realised various challenges for lawyers, as well as clients, with regard to onboarding processes and client care and became interested in the technological advancements in other sectors. Whilst at a previous law firm, Wayne was internally promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing strategic operational improvements. Passionate about leveraging technology to enhance legal services, Wayne is committed to streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing the client journey through digital transformation and innovation.
Having joined Swinburne Maddison in December 2024, Wayne plays a pivotal role in streamlining the firm’s internal systems and processes. By implementing automation, AI, and digital tools, he ensures that fee earners and staff can optimise their time, focus on delivering first-class legal services, and provide clients with a seamless and efficient experience. His client-centric approach is driven by data analysis and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that every aspect of the firm’s service – from the initial point of contact to post-case care – is optimised for efficiency and quality.
With years of experience in both legal practice and operations, Wayne is an expert in integrating technology and process improvements to enhance legal service delivery. His career has seen him progress from a legal practitioner to a leadership role in legal operations, where he has been instrumental in introducing digital-first approaches.
