Niamh Wilson joined Swinburne Maddison in February 2023 as a Trainee Solicitor and qualified as a Solicitor within the Family department in February 2025. She holds a First-Class Master in Law degree from Northumbria University and has a passion for guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging moments.
Specialising in divorce and separation and private law children’s matters, Niamh provides a holistic and empathetic approach to family law. Her ability to blend her experience of corporate, commercial, and property law enables her to offer a uniquely comprehensive perspective, often collaborating with other departments and external professionals such as financial advisors and accountants to ensure tailored and robust solutions.

Her core values of trust, care, and collaboration ensure she delivers practical solutions with compassion, making her an invaluable ally for clients, particularly those with complex asset portfolios, business interests, or cross-jurisdictional matters
Niamh is also an active contributor to Swinburne Maddison’s in-house work experience program, mentoring aspiring lawyers during their summer placement.

During her training contract, Niamh gained experience in the Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Property and Family teams, which shaped her well-rounded approach to client care. Now focused exclusively on family law, she applies her broader legal knowledge to provide thorough and innovative solutions to clients.
Key highlights include:
- Assisting in the resolution of a high-conflict financial settlement involving repeated breaches of court orders, securing the client sole possession of significant property assets.
- Supporting a father in successfully resolving a complex child arrangement dispute, resulting in the child living primarily with him after previously being denied contact.
- Stepping in at short notice to conduct a hearing that successfully secured interim contact for the father, after he had previously been denied contact with his child.
Niamh’s ability to explain complex legal matters in a straightforward manner has earned her praise from clients across a range of financial and personal circumstances.
