Corporate Statement: Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

24 March 2021

Written by Swinburne Maddison

We would like to assure you that Swinburne Maddison LLP is continuously monitoring the situation of the Covid-19 global outbreak. First and foremost, we would like to wish you all the very best of health, both physically and mentally during this time.

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Monday 23rd March 2020, we have closed our office at Aykley Heads with immediate effect until further notice.

From today, Tuesday 24th March 2020, our team will be working remotely on a widescale basis. This is a well-established agile working programme and allows us to continue providing a service to our clients.

We will be unable to meet with clients face-to-face and all communication will be electronic, with telephone appointments if required. Additional, we have suspended all Notarial services until further notice.

The firm is working hard to minimise disruption caused by the current situation, whilst doing everything possible to protect its clients, staff and others. We apologise for any inconvenience, but we trust that everyone will support our approach, in line with others, to this public health emergency.

We would like to thank our dedicated colleagues for the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout this challenging time. We have put measures in place to ensure that our team stays in contact with each other to minimise isolation and that workloads are managed effectively.  Email addresses and direct dial telephone numbers can be used as normal, along with the main reception telephone number.  If possible, please use the direct dial of the person you are trying to reach.

To our clients, we would like to thank you for your patience and ongoing support during these difficult and unsettling times. We apologise for any inconvenience, but we trust that you will support our approach.

Finally, we would like to say a special thank you to the key workers on the front line of this crisis and those working tirelessly to reduce the spread of the virus. Whilst our office is closed we will be opening our car park to the NHS staff at Durham University Hospital.

If you have any concerns about how this will affect you, please contact our office number on 0191 384 2441 and you will be redirected to a member of our team who can provide further details.
