2020 is set to be a year of growth and expansion for automation engineering specialists Springfield NE Ltd after the company concluded 2019 by purchasing one of the units they currently occupy together with 2.4 acres of land.
Based at Chilton Industrial Estate in Chilton, County Durham, Springfield NE Ltd is a design and manufacturer of precision engineering products, offering a wide product portfolio of fabrication, jigs and fixtures, prototypes and batch samples for a range of assembly purposes, up to and including fully automated special purpose machines for customers throughout the UK and internationally.
The family-run business was established in 2005 by husband and wife, Colin and Marion Milsom and currently provides precision engineering solutions across several sectors including security and defence, automotive and medical.
Over the years, Colin and Marion have continued to invest in growing the business, with the purchase of eight state-of-the-art machines. They currently employ 18 highly skilled manufacturing staff across their three manufacturing facilities.
Assisted by Swinburne Maddison’s Kate Stephenson, Partner in the firm’s Real Estate team, the company has now purchased the freehold of the larger of the three units the business occupies. The unit is situated on 2.4 acres of land and the recent purchase will enable the business to expand its manufacturing facilities by building an extension later in the year.
