Craig Malarkey is a corporate and commercial lawyer who joined Swinburne Maddison in 2021 as a Partner. With over 18 years of experience in corporate finance and transactional matters, Craig has established himself as a trusted advisor to businesses across the North East and beyond.
Craig completed his legal education at Newcastle University, graduating with an LLB Honors in 2003, followed by his Legal Practice Course at York College of Law. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2006, Craig has cultivated a reputation for his pragmatic approach to solving complex business challenges and his ability to manage transactions with a calm, assured demeanour.
Craig’s ability to combine technical expertise with a genuine understanding of his clients’ businesses has earned him praise for his practical, down-to-earth approach. - Advising on the sale of Hospitality Data Insights Limited to Reward, a company backed by Experian plc and private investors.
- Supporting the sale of M2 Education Limited to Swedish private equity-backed Humly.
- Managing the sale of a North East-based wholesale group in the food and produce sector to a national counterpart.
- Leading the sale of Automotive Property Consultancy Limited to Savills (UK) Limited.
- Facilitating a management buyout for a leading regional manufacturer of commercial and domestic windows and doors.
In addition, Craig is passionate about fostering a collaborative and supportive environment at Swinburne Maddison. He has mentored numerous successful lawyers, helping his colleagues flourish in their legal careers.
