Jessica Leslie is a Solicitor in the Employment team at Swinburne Maddison. She joined the firm in September 2025, having completed her law degree at Northumbria University while working full-time as a Solicitor Apprentice at another North East law firm. She qualified as a solicitor in February 2026.
During her apprenticeship, Jessica gained hands-on experience across a wide range of legal areas, including Employment, Commercial, Family Law, Property, Construction, and Private Client work.
Jessica is passionate about pursuing her legal career in employment law. She has a particular interest in supporting private individuals and employers in areas such as discrimination and harassment claims, whistleblowing, professional discipline and Employment Tribunal litigation.
In her current role, Jessica supports senior lawyers in advising both employers and employees on a broad spectrum of employment law matters. Her day-to-day work includes assisting with settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance procedures, equality and diversity issues, unfair dismissal, redundancy, TUPE and business transfers and drafting contracts and policy documents. She also contributes to employer training sessions.
Jessica is known for her proactive approach, strong client relationships, and genuine enthusiasm for employment law. She is committed to delivering tailored, high-quality support and is passionate about helping clients navigate complex workplace issues.
Jessica stands out for her integrity, proactive mindset and collaborative approach. She builds trust with clients by always acting in their best interests and works closely with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes.
