Nahima Islam is a Paralegal in Swinburne Maddison’s Dispute Resolution team. She studied Law LLB at Newcastle University, where she developed a strong interest in litigation and dispute resolution.
While completing her degree, Nahima gained valuable practical experience working as a Legal Assistant in the Pre-Litigation department at another North East law firm. In her role at Swinburne Maddison, Nahima supports solicitors with case preparation and ongoing files, prepares legal documents, communicates with clients and liaises with third parties to help ensure matters progress efficiently. She is known for her empathy, attention to detail and proactive approach, all of which contribute to delivering a high standard of client care.
Alongside her academic and professional experience, Nahima participated in Newcastle University’s Street Law Pro Bono Scheme as a Street Law Ambassador, delivering legal education sessions to local community groups, youth groups and schools on topics including police powers, access to legal advice, rights at school and transitions into adulthood.
